Blood Diamonds have been used by rebel groups to fuel brutal wars in Africa. These conflicts have resulted in over 4 Million deaths and the displacement of Millions of people in Angola, Sierre Leone, the DRC, Liberia, and now in Ivory Coast. These diamonds have been sold to international diamond dealers giving rebels profits to buy large quantities of small arms. The rebels has multilated more than 20, 000 people, hacking off their arms, legs, lips and ears with Machetes axes.
It is still a problem as the jewelers keeping consumers in the dark, consumers and many others in the diamond industry who turn a blind eye.

to meisy - initially im not aware of it. when i watched blood diamond movie, i still thought that it was fiction. as soon as the movie ends, the message they gave us were all through and im shocked it happened in real life. and the most saddest thing, its still happening. so i went to check more about it.. gosh!!! i can’t stand it!! anyway thanks for droppign by. wanna link up babe?

i watched the movie too and my first reaction was, it can’t be happening? but i googled it up and yeah its true. its sad and it angers me to know that the $$ is used to buy firearms and weapons. its sad when the $$ could’ve gotten to feed the poor.
