Hi there, I’m Sha and I’m a guest blogger upon invitation from Yanni, who’s away currently getting her deserved R&R. I’m blogging just for today, and Yanni will be back soon. Yes yes, she’s not MIA or on hiatus, so you don’t have to worry that I’ll be here forever, keke
I was quite having the writer’s block when I was thinking of what to write about here. I was wrecking my brains for some inspiration as I’ve never really wrote for someone else’s blog. I mean I did became a guest blogger before, but the previous writings was quite specific, the topic was given to me, so not much went into thinking the topic.
So I did initially tried to do a topic about something funny. I’ve always been witty (blowing my own horns here, keke). And I’m good at graphics ala Adobe Photoshop. I decided to create a fictional comic strip but time was not on my side, it just takes too much time. I quit after the first page, which took me 15minutes to do. So times 10x of that, hurrrrhh, then I would neglect my job. Hey I’ve to earn a living yar.
Blogging shouldn’t control you, you should be in control. So it’s back to the drawing board for some ideas for my maiden blog entry here
So it finally hit me. Why just settle for a topic. Why not a myriad of various topics … like Duh! So here goes
Topic #1) Shaving my hairy legs
I’ve always wondered how does it feel to have that smooth shaved of a leg. Oh boy does this sounds gay? Hahaha, well if it is, so be it. I’m a metrosexual uncle! I’ve never really shaved my leg before and I wouldn’t lah, it’s just that I always envy guys with nice legs. Oh boy does this sounds gay again? Hahaha .. Ok let me rephrased that!
I’ve heard comments from my lady friends that men who shave their legs get extra manly points in their books for shedding a masculine layer to expose sleeker, softer muscles beneath the gruff exterior. Is that true for most ladies reading here?
Now if that will get me a date or in the sack, why not! But then again the thought of in-grown hair after shaving or having the need to shave again and again does makes it less appealing and alot of work. Hmmm
Topic #2) I ‘hate’ androgynous looking guys
You know guys who looks pretty like Utt, Pierre Png, Jude Law or Adam Brody. They have more luck with the chicks than real looking guys like me. I’ve some guy friends who are pretty . For example if we were to go clubbing, chicks would usually check them out or they’re more friendlier to them on the dancefloor, rather than me and the rest of the guys. That kind you know …
What can I do, they’re still my best friends. Of course I’m jealous of them. I and many other guys out there who are not blessed with good looks. Yes I’m envious. And coming from a guy, if you don’t, well dude, either you’re in denial or something is wrong. I think it’s ok to feel such, as long as if doesn’t consume you. It’s not the end of the world, but we make do with what we’re endowed with right.
Of course some of you might say that looks doesn’t matter right, it’s the personality? Right … Well you can’t deny the fact that pretty boys have it easier. When it comes to men, women are quite the idealists. Don’t deny it now ladies. Oh boy do I hear the flames coming? Bring it on ladies!
Topic #3) Straight guys are afraid to be labeled gay
Here’s the funny thing. We guys act all macho and gruffy as we want to be deemed as someone who is ‘manly’. I guess it all starts out in school when we were young. If you let’s say not part of a clique or brought your sisters pink umbrella to school by mistake, boys would make fun of you. Being called gay in school is so malu and being labeled one is the most damaging thing kids do to other kids.
And the act still follows now, but luckily its getting better. Now there’s a new term, “Metrosexual”. It’s coming to terms with gayness but not outright gay but a more effeminate nature of a guy are now associated with guys being more in touch with his feelings. Modern metrosexual guys, but you’re still straight lah.
I say guys let’s embrace it. I’m not asking of your sexual orientation, that you do in your free time, haha.
Straight guys shouldn’t be afraid to get smiles from other guys. No that doesn’t mean sexual advances. Nor should we be afraid getting compliments from other guys. Singapore guys should be more confident in their sexual skins and are not threatened by a look or a smile of all things.
If it’s indeed an advance, just give a flattering smile and say “Thanks, I’m not interested.†Rather than giving a foul look and threatening demeanor.
Well that’s my topic for that. Hope it’s enough to last a day or two for you readers, before Yanni’s return

Well back to the post Uncle Sha has posted. I cannot agree more with him about his statement – blogging should NOT control us. We should control it. There is no wya we can subject ourselves to the enslavement of blogging. Blogging is just a platform for us to interact with each other – it’s not a substitute of social life. I hate to see a lot of really addicted people sitting in front of their computer screen desperately waiting for visitors and commentors and etc, white sacrificing their social life at the same time.
To issues regarding guys… well I think whether a guy shaves his leg hair or not doesn’t really matter. Many underwear models shave leg haiur because it can be pretty unsightly while taking shots, but models with moderately long leg hairs can just get away with it. It all boils down to persoanl preferences, so there’s no definite right or wrong. But if a guy shaves his leg everyday like the gals out there do, that will surely scare the daylights out of me!
For pretty boys and real guys, these pretty boys are out there to attract female audiences? Perhaps. I’m not sure because I rarely think about this kind of stuff. And for the last statement regarding metrosexuals – I think it’s fine to have facial wash at handy because who says guys should suffer form oily skin too? And it is important to keep your face clean too, if you’re out there to hang out with others
but if a guy goes around having cucumber slices on his eyes and facial mask on his face, I’ll get freaked out!
