It never hurts to follow Simple Workplace Etiquettes

Whether we like it or not, we spend a large part of our day in our workplace. How we behave and conduct ourselves in the office speaks a lot about the kind of person we are. I always remind myself not to get involve and not bother about anything. Focus on your work and produce results. Nothing can go wrong. Ok this entry has got nothing to do with anything. Therefore, don’t get too sensitive or don’t assume or (terasa!). Unless you are the king or queen of office politics. In good words “King or Queen of Organizational Awareness” Haha! Awareness my ass!
Do’s and Dont’s.
1. Stay Away From Gossip – Most of us believe that it is okay to gossip about each and every colleague in the office. However, remember that there is no place for gossip mongers in a professional work environment. Even if you are habituated, refrain from gossiping.2. Be true to yourself – After analyzing the political landscape in your company, if you decide the game is one you can’t play, prepare to move on. It’s not typical, but some organizations actually condone — even promote — dishonest, ruthless or unethical/ manipulative behavior. The game of office politics in this situation is not one worth.
3. Observe how things get done in your organization – Ask some key questions: What are the core values and how are they enacted? Are short- or long-term results most valued? How are decisions made? How much risk is tolerated? The answers to these questions should give you a good sense of the culture of your organization.
4. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO ACHIEVE – Bitching, Updating and complaining are common responses to these events that we cannot control. But think about it, other than that short term emotional outlet, what tangible results does bitching, updating and complaining like a real biatch really accomplish? In most instances, none.
Instead of feeling victimized and angry about the situation, focus on the things that you can do to influence the situation – your circle of influence. This is a very empowering technique to overcome the feeling of helplessness. It removes the victimized feeling and also allows others to see you as someone who knows how to operate within given constraints. You may not be able to change or decide on the eventual outcome, but you can learn to walk away knowing that you have done the best within the given circumstances.
4. Conduct yourself appropriately in your workplace and win appreciation from colleagues and seniors.
5. Finally, if you’re caught gossiping about something and are called on the carpet by a friend, co-worker or boss, own up to it. If you’re willing to risk spreading gossip then you should be able to stand up to the heat and explain your intentions.
Conclusion
It is easy to blame the system. It is easy to blame others for your faults. Lets not do that and create a competitive and unhealthy workplace environment. Generally people who don’t have any work to do, they get indulged in “Workplace politics”. So reflect on yourself and start to change. It will make the workplace, the world especially your whole entire life a better place.
Ahhhh… Now you all know why I try not to keep in touch with a lot of people – friends or ex-colleagues. It’s really not fun to be involve in such things. I don’t enjoy it, I don’t like being angry or having bad moods. I don’t want to be a mean girl or rude/ sarcastic to anyone who I know will definitely tick me off. Also, because I am freaking busy and always drained out after hard day at work + putting all my energy, effort and time to make Gem By Gems a better brand.

hi. great job here. working environment is very very important and ask ourselves if we spend most of our time at work after graduation and at the end of the day we only could reap the sour fruits by behaving improperly.
there are some points where i utterly agree with you. however, look at the gossip part, sometimes, gossip is very common to be happened in office especially when the place has more than 2 persons involved. Gossip is inevitable but i prefer to be the listener among the gossip groups and pretend that i have heard nothing in order to survive in the office.
sometimes, we just lack of motivation to work also because motivation can change according to different period of time. motivation could be anything in any form, such as a song, the lyrics, a friend, a topic (keyword), money, appreciation, satisfaction, love and so on..
what is the life of working in this hectic city?
life is such….
office politics its either you know where it all started or you dont know how it started. so complicated. humans…
